Moviment Graffitti, Alternattiva Demokratika Zghazagh and Ir-Realta Collective are dissatisfied with the organisation of this year's university freshers' Week. Another Freshers' Week has come and gone, along with the companies practically shoving their wares into the hands of students. We reiterate that Freshers' Week should be of the students, by the students, and for the students.

The government has accepted a donation of â¬560,000 from General Soft Drinks Co Ltd, representatives of Coca-Cola in Malta, on behalf of the Coca-Cola Foundation. These funds are to be used on a water project in so-called Eco Gozo.

On this day, 9th July, the day the gay pride march is being held, Moviment Graffitti would like to reiterate its position in favour of gay rights and tolerance towards gay people in Malta. It is a shame that in 2011, we are still debating about whether homosexuality and homosexual practices should be accepted, when scientific evidence clearly points out that homosexuality is simply another sexual orientation and that it is definitely not a sickness of some sort.

Decriminalising drugs reduces harm

In the light of the recent report of the global commission on drug policy, which encourages governments to re-think their war on drugs and encourages them to decriminalise soft drugs, Moviment Graffitti would like to state its position in favour of drug decriminalisation. Unfortunately, both the government and opposition refuse to even discuss any changes in drug laws that may lead to decriminalisation.
