------ Advert for Reclaim the World 2004 -------
Moviment Graffitti shall be organising the 'Reclaim the World' activity for
the second year running at Freedom Square Valletta. The activity shall take
place on Saturday 16th October from 9am to 9pm and shall include a live
concert, discussions, NGO information stands and other activities.
"The Reclaim the World activity aims to promote social justice, peace,
social inclusion,
diversity, tolerance, human rights, equality and youth empowerment," said
Moviment Graffitti, which is a member of various networks and organisations
that are active in favour of global justice, such as European Social Forum
and Peoples' Global Action. The activity is also coinciding with Moviment
Graffitti’s 10th year since being officially founded..
Various Non-Governmental Organisations shall participate in the Reclaim the
World activity. Apart from Moviment Graffitti, these include, Nature Trust,
General Workers Union Youth, Malta Gay Rights Movement, Malta Council of
Disabled Persons, National Youth Council, Ghaqda Zghazagh tax-Xellug,
Zminijietna, Peta (Malta), The Arts Collective, El Diablo del Mar,
Reciprocal Records, Koperattiva Kummerc Gust, Gaia Foundation, Amnesty
International (Malta) and Third World Group. Variious NGOs shall set-up
information stands and distribute information material.
Five round-table open-air discussions shall take place during the Reclaim
the World activity, namely, namely "Peace", addressed by Dr Mark Anthony
Falzon, "Social Inclusion" addressed by Sandro Mangion and Fr Pierre Grech
Marguaret, "Fair Trade" addressed by James Farrugia, and Workers and Social
Justice" addressed by Cory Greenland. Another debate, organised by Young
Left Malta shall focous on the State of the Left.
Reclaim the World shall also include a Djembe Session led by renonwned
percussionst Zizza and a live concert featuring top acts Dripht, Subculture,
Explicit,Congo Bon Chik, Walter Micallef, Particle Blue.

Moviment Graffitti's Reclaim the World Activity is being co-funded by the
Youth Support Programme. Reclaim the World is endorsing the Consultation
Meeting on Malta’s National Strategy on Sustainable Development. Organised
by the National Youth Council at St James Cavallier, Friday 15th October,
1730hrs.
