Join us for a night of good music\, minus the artwashing. \nAs we surpass 200 days of genocide in Gaza within a 76 year occupation\, we refuse to support the Eurovision platform and its double standards. While Russia is still rightfully banned from participation following their invasion of Ukraine\, Israel faces no such sanctions. \nDespite this\, Palestinians continue to resist. Let us take Eurovision night to celebrate Palestine\, its people\, and above all\, their unwavering spirit of resistance\, together as a community who refuses to stand quietly by. \nEntrance is free but donation boxes will be available. SUMMARY:Queer Crochet Evening - IDAHOBIT
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us on Friday the 17th of May at 18:30 to mark the International Day Against Homophobia\, Biphobia and Transphobia – IDAHOBIT. This is the day when we celebrate gender and sexual diversity together. \nIt is also the day when we remember that although in an increasing number of countries\, the LGBTIQ+ community is enjoying more rights\, millions in different parts of the world\, still experience discrimination\, stigma\, violence and abuse\, imprisonment\, and even death. \nThis year we will be celebrating IDAHOBIT in a different way. We will meet at our premises @67\, Strait Street\, Valletta for some fun with rainbow-themed crochet creations. \nThe event will be facilitated by Claria who will give a short presentation about crochet and then she will demonstrate some simple steps to create our own rainbow heart key chains. \nWe will be providing the rainbow yarn and some hooks. \nTo mark your attendance and to be sure you are provided with the necessary materials\, please fill in this form: https://forms.gle/ooUTWZPBLx2QBUCS8 \nThose who have their own hooks are encouraged to bring them. And people who are already quite familiar to crochet are welcome to join for a community crochet session without following the presentation. \nThere will be some food to share and drinks at the bar. The event is free of charge\, but a small donation would be appreciated.
